International day of living together in peace

In the midst of the challenges and hardships which the world witnesses nowadays, countries take different approaches in the way they deal with them and in the way they arrive at the results they want to achieve. But due to long years of suffering and discrepancies , we have  become sure of the need for a humanitarian requirement demanded by our social nature  and dictated by our human  interests. Based on this, the UN General Assembly declared in the year 2017 that the 16th of May every year should be observed as an International Day of living together in Peace.

This day calls on all states and nations to enhance communication and consolidate the human bonds among all nations in the framework of peace, sustainable development, tolerance and cooperation.

Today as we live our confrontation with Coronavirus and face  the health ,economic and social  challenges  with all  the states and nations of the world ,   we need  to extend our hands towards our partners across the world and work together to enhance our efforts in several  fields ,most important of which are scientific research in the field of medication and vaccines which help to holt this pandemic. We also need to take all the necessary measures to help the nations which do not have the available means of treatment or medical equipment. We need to establish cooperation among all concerned to offer help and support to those who need it.

We in the United Arab Emirates, thanks to God and to our wise leadership, enjoy the social ,religious and cultural values which exist in our Emirati society.Despite having multiple citizenships and cultures our society enjoys the culture of toleration and social peace because they all live in a social system of brotherhood and coexistence. This led to the creation of social relations based on partnership and cooperation among individuals.

In the midst of this crisis and in order to face its challenges, we consider the sixteenth of May a day of importance which needs to be observed and celebrated. We need to have initiatives which reflect the importance of coexistence and the value of living in a society free from conflicts because we are partners in any crisis we face.

The coexistence which is based on peace, toleration and cooperation is inevitable. Therefore we must concentrate on the human interests which provide peaceful living, security and stability. These are the components of our human principles which unite all of us in all circumstances.

I pray to God to see these principles prevail at the present and in the future  and hope to see them comprise the culture of all nations in order to see all live in the framework of values which propagate living in peace , toleration and love.
